The Alaska Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience will host a June 2 public lecture on the effects of binge drinking on the human brain.

Fulton Crews will speak on "Neurobiology of Addiction and Recovery." Crews is the director of the Bowles Center for Alcohol Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Wedgewood Resort following the Sixth Annual National Conference of Specialized Neuroscience Research Programs.

The Grass Foundation and the University of Alaska Fairbanks are also sponsoring the event.
