The University of Alaska Fairbanks art department is accepting applications for its second-annual visual arts academy June 19-30. The academy is an intensive visual arts program for students going into grades 6-12. UAF’s faculty of professional Alaska visual artists will teach classes in Native arts, sculpture, painting, metalsmithing, printmaking, drawing, design and ceramics.

All-day students will take four 95-minute studio classes per day. Half-day students will take two classes each day. The academy runs five days a week for two weeks. The morning session goes from 8:30 a.m. to noon and the afternoon session is from 1-4:30 p.m. All-day students will be supervised during lunch.
