The University of Alaska will host an introduction to the statewide university system for state candidates during a "UA 101" session from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. The public is invited.
The workshop will be held in the Bunnell Building’s Schaible Auditorium. A similar "UA 101" session was held last week at the University of Alaska Anchorage, with a healthy turnout of state House and Senate candidates from the Southcentral region. This session will include candidates running for Interior districts as well as candidates for governor and lieutenant governor.
The purpose of the non-partisan sessions is to educate candidates on the university’s mission, programs and budget. The public and media are invited. UA President Mark Hamilton and UAF Chancellor Steve Jones will attend.
