Fairbanks, Alaska--The Alaska One public television network is seeking artwork submissions for its annual statewide poster competition.

Submissions will be judged by a selection committee. The chosen work will be professionally photographed and will appear on the 2007 Alaska One poster. The poster will be introduced in the statewide spring 2007 public broadcasting campaign on Alaska One television. Further promotion includes airing the artist’s biography on Alaska One and inviting the artist to participate in a public poster-signing event.

The 2006 poster artist was Karin Franzen, a fiber artist from Fairbanks. Karin’s "Autumn Raven"? was selected as Alaska One’s 23rd-annual poster art. She joined the ranks of some of Alaska’s finest artists who have earned a place on Alaska One’s annual poster.

In order to enter the competition, artists must live in Alaska. Entries must have been completed in the last five years and must be personally submitted by the artist. Each artist may submit up to three slides or art on a CD in high-resolution jpg or pdf format. Work which has been previously shown is allowed.

Please submit entries, art title, dimensions, contact information and a written description (up to 200 words) about what inspires you to create art to: Tammy Tragis-McCook, marketing & community relations manager, Alaska One Call for Art 2006, KUAC TV 9/ Alaska One, University of Alaska Fairbanks, P.O. Box 755620, 312 Tanana Drive, Fairbanks, AK 99775-5620.

All entries must be received by Friday, Jan. 5, 2007. To have entries returned, please include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
