Fairbanks, Alaska--The University of Alaska Fairbanks awarded hundreds of privately funded scholarships for the 2006-2007 academic year. The scholarships are administered by the University of Alaska Foundation and UAF Advancement Services. UAF students were awarded more than $850,000 through these scholarships this academic year, in amounts ranging from $500 to $15,000. That’s an increase of more than $200,000 from last year. The awards are made possible by the generosity of university donors, including many alumni and local businesses.

This year’s scholarship recipients and donors will be honored Tuesday, April 10 at UAF’s annual scholarship breakfast.

UAF has nearly 300 privately funded scholarships available for students. UAF students are also eligible to apply for statewide UA scholarships.
