Fairbanks, Alaska- The early childhood education program at the UAF Tanana Valley Campus will present its recently completed movie series, The Pies of Development, April 23-25, in celebration of the national Week of the Young Child. The movie series will be shown daily from 12:10 p.m.-12:50 p.m. in the media classroom, room 340 of the Rasmuson Library on the UAF campus. Each session will include a question and discussion period. Following is a schedule of topics:
Monday, April 23, "Promoting Creativity in Young Children"?
Tuesday, April 24, "Physical Development in Young Children"?
Wednesday, April 25, "Emotional Development in Young Children"?
Thursday, April 26, "Social Development in Young Children"?
Friday, April 27, "Intellectual Development in Young Children"?
"Everyone could use a better understanding of child development,"? said Patty Merritt, TVC early childhood education professor. "This series will help you to better understand what a child needs as compared to what they want."?
The series is free and open to the public. Parents, teachers, students and others interested in child development are encouraged to attend.
