Applied business graduates at the UAF Tanana Valley Campus can now make an easier transition into business bachelor’s degree programs offered at the University of Alaska Fairbanks and University of Alaska Southeast.

A new management concentration within TVC’s applied business program allows students to complete several of the math, economics, statistics and managerial accounting courses required by the bachelor of business administration programs at UAF and UAS. Students earning an associate’s degree with the new emphasis will have a more direct path into the four-year programs.

"This is an example of how the university is working cooperatively to meet the needs of our students,"? said Charlie Dexter, TVC faculty member and applied business coordinator. "Oftentimes students who graduate with an associate’s degree want to continue their education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree. We are thrilled to partner with our colleagues in the UAF School of Management to open doors for those seeking to continue their education in the business field."?

In addition, graduates of TVC’s applied business program who are busy working or who cannot physically attend classes at UAF now have the option of pursuing their bachelor’s degree online through the UAS School of Management.

"This is an exciting opportunity to earn a management certificate, an associate of applied science degree and a bachelor of business administration (degree) without having to take a lot of extra courses,"? said Dexter.
