The University of Alaska Fairbanks Department of Athletics will host the 23rd annual IBEW Nanook Fund Golf Scramble on June 15 at the North Star Golf Club.
IBEW is in its fourth year as the title sponsor for the tournament, which is the major fundraising event for student-athlete scholarships. Proceeds will directly benefit the Alaska Nanooks.
On the day of the tournament, breakfast and registration begins at 7 a.m. with a captain’s meeting at 8 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. Each golfer will receive a catered lunch and drink carts and a hospitality tent will be available throughout the tournament.
All participants will have the opportunity to win two round-trip tickets on Alaska Airlines in a drawing to be held the day of the tournament. In addition, each golfer will receive a coupon redeemable for an EC2 custom-fitted hybrid utility club from Magique Golf, valued at $150 (excludes shipping and handling).
Every entrant will receive a tournament gift, goodie bag and an opportunity to win team prizes. Other prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive for men and women.
The tournament’s hole-in-one prizes include a new vehicle from Auto Service Company valued at $30,000, $10,000 in cash, a Hawaiian vacation package for two and a set of Ben Hogan BH-5 irons.
Teams of four can register to participate in the tournament for $600 or individuals can sign up for $160. Individuals and partial teams will be paired by the tournament staff to create complete teams of four. Hole sponsorships are available for $100 per hole.
