Scientists warn of climate change effect on boreal forest

The vice chancellor for research at the University of Alaska Fairbanks says
climate changes presents opportunities as well as challenges. But in Alaska’s
boreal forest, Buck Sharpton says there seems to be only challenges, from wildfire
to insects and disease. He says that if there’s a silver lining for Alaska’s
forest in the global warming cloud, he’d like to hear it.

The Doc is in: DelCastillo visits UAF campus

Doc DelCastillo has spent 20 games over the last five seasons looking at Alaska
Nanooks players as rivals in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The
University of Nebraska-Omaha assistant coach hopes to see the Nanooks as his
team this coming season, as he is the third finalist for the Alaska head coaching
position to visit the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus.

Arctic research center reopens after fire
