Africa Illuminated will host a free public screening and discussion of "Shaka Zulu" on Saturday, June 21st at 5:30 p.m. in Schaible Auditorium on the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. The screening is the second in a series of summer events in the inaugural African Movie Festival.
"Shaka Zulu" chronicles the life and rise to power of Zulu leader Shaka, who ruled the Zulu people for more than a decade in the early 1800s.
Africa Illuminated is an extension of the student group Black Awareness Student Union. The African Movie Festival will feature twice-monthly African movies and group discussions throughout the summer. Organizers hope to make it an annual event.
