The 28th annual Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival will wrap up this weekend with a series of events around the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. This year’s festival kicked off July 15, bringing more than 800 registrants and 90 guest artists from around the world to study and perform at UAF.

Registrants have participated in a variety of workshops, master classes and daily rehearsals leading up to performances in a range of disciplines that includes music, dance, theater, storytelling, creative writing, visual arts and ice skating.

Events scheduled throughout the remainder of the festival include a cabaret show, performances by the festival’s wind and brass ensembles, dance, ice skating, opera and musical theatre performances. All of the events are open to the public.

There will be a series of evening concerts in the Davis Concert Hall starting at 8 p.m. each evening. Friday’s concert will feature a variety of vocal music, Saturday will showcase the Festival orchestra and Sunday’s gala finale will highlight world music and dance. Tickets to the nightly concerts are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

Please visit www.fsaf.org for event times, dates and locations.
