The Cold Climate Housing Research Center is now accepting registration for its fall conference, Sustainable Northern Shelter in a World of Diminishing Resources.

The circumpolar forum is scheduled for Oct. 28-30, 2007 at the Princess Riverside Lodge in Fairbanks. It is an International Polar Year event cosponsored by the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation and the Northern Forum.

The event will feature keynote speakers and panelists from around the circumpolar North who will speak about sustainable and appropriate buildings and communities, alternative energy systems, and northern building science and technology.

Organizers of the forum hope it will help define a research agenda for the field of northern building technology and infrastructure design, develop ongoing research partnerships and identify ways to disseminate information to the public.

The forum will be webcast live. An announcement of how to access and participate via the Internet will be sent out when the details are completed. More information on the conference and registration is available online at www.cchrc.org/forum.html.
