Nationally recognized pediatrician and author Dr. Harvey Karp will give a public presentation and a professional seminar in Fairbanks Sept. 5-6.
On Sept. 5 at 6 p.m., Karp will speak on reducing tantrums and raising respectful young children during a public lecture at the Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts at Pioneer Park. Admission is $15. The following day, he will offer a professional seminar for healthcare workers, teachers, counselors and others working with children. The seminar runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the center and is $75 per person. Continuing education credits are available for nurses.
Karp’s presentations are sponsored by the UAF Tanana Valley Campus, the Resource Center for Parents and Children and Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
