Localized flooding and UAF employees

The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued flood warnings and/or advisories for a number of areas. A flood warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring and you need to take necessary precautions immediately.

The university wants to ensure the safety of you and your family during this weather event. If you live in an affected area and are not able to safely get to work, please DO NOT attempt to do so. Please contact your immediate supervisor to let them know you are safe, but unable to get to work due to the weather conditions. Affected employees will be approved for annual leave or leave without pay for this purpose. Alternatively, we would accept a supervisor’s decision to let employees work from home.
