The second annual Women’s Hockey 101 Symposium will be held Thursday, Oct. 2 at the Carlson Center from 5:30 - 9:30 p.m. This year’s event is teaming up with the Breast Cancer Detection Center during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Participants will have dinner with the hockey team, receive a long-sleeved hockey 101 T-shirt and a ticket to the Nanooks’ Friday night game. The cost is $50. There will be several breakout sessions on and off the ice, each designed to help educate female fans about the game of hockey. Topics will range from rules and terminology explanations, various on-ice skill demonstrations, Q&A session with the players and coaches, a tour of the team locker room, as well as an assortment of door prizes. During the dinner, the Breast Cancer Detection Center will make a presentation.
