Gov. Sarah Palin’s cabinet will meet with University of Alaska Fairbanks research leaders Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. in the Elvey Building Globe Room on the UAF campus.
The cabinet is scheduled to spend the morning and part of the afternoon hearing presentations on energy, health and life sciences, and climate change research at UAF. The group will then tour the Biological Research and Diagnostics Building, State Virology Lab and Arctic Region Supercomputing Center Discovery Lab. Following is the schedule:
8:45 a.m. - Welcome and panel introductions: UAF Chancellor Brian Rogers, UA President Mark Hamilton and Vice Chancellor Buck Sharpton
9:15 a.m. - Energy panel presentation
10:30 a.m. - Break
10:45 a.m. - Health and life sciences panel presentation
Noon - Break for lunch
1:15 p.m. - Climate impacts panel presentation
2:30 p.m. - Break and travel to: BiRD/State Virology Lab Discovery Lab tour (Permafrost; arctic weather research)
3:45 p.m. - Meeting adjourned
