Most University of Alaska Fairbanks offices will close for the holidays beginning Wednesday, Dec. 24 at noon and will reopen Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 a.m. The UAF police and fire departments will remain open and the UAF Bookstore, the Student Recreation Center, the Wood Center, the UA Museum of the North, Rasmuson Library and some computer labs on campus will have limited hours.
Regular campus shuttle bus routes will run until 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 24, while the on-call campus shuttle will run until 4 p.m. Shuttles will not run during the campus closure. Limited shuttle service will resume on Jan. 5.
Students will begin returning to campus Tuesday, Jan. 20, when residence halls reopen. New students are invited to participate in orientation activities the following day. The first day of classes for the spring semester is Thursday, Jan. 22.
The University of Alaska Museum of the North will be open during the holiday season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 22 - 24 and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1 - 4. The museum will be closed Christmas Day.
