The University of Alaska Museum of the North will present a free public lecture and book signing with Fairbanks composer John Luther Adams on Thursday, April 30 at 7 p.m. at the museum.

Adams will talk about the development of his sound and light installation at the museum and read from his recently published book "The Place Where You Go to Listen: In Search of an Ecology of Music." The museum installation, which opened in 2006, is driven by the real-time positions of the sun and moon, earthquakes and aurora activity in Alaska.

A book signing follows the lecture. Copies of Adams book and his CDs are available at the Museum Store.

Admission is free. Call 907-474-7505 for more information.
