Students and faculty members at the University of Alaska Fairbanks will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with a series of events, including the building and demolition of a Berlin Wall replica and a public panel discussion.

On Friday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m., members of the UAF German Club and the UAF art department will erect a replica of the Berlin Wall in front of the Wood Center on the UAF campus. The wall will feature graffiti highlighting the theme "freedom without walls" and will be up over the weekend for people to add their own graffiti. On Monday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. in Room 201 of the Reichardt Building, the group will host a free public panel discussion with professors and students who will speak about the enduring legacy of this important historical event.

Following the panel discussion, students will demolish the Berlin Wall replica.
