Local angler Shann Jones [SHAWN] will teach a 14-hour fly-tying course at the University of Alaska Fairbanks January 4th through 13th. The class will run Mondays and Wednesdays from 6-9:30 p.m. in Room 302 of the Bunnell Building.

The course will teach students how to build and create fishing flies based on artistic techniques and concepts. Jones will also teach students how to choose fly-tying materials and offer information on Alaska freshwater fish, habitat, entomology and stream ecology.

All materials are provided. Students who already own fly-tying tools are encouraged to use their own equipment.

For information or to register, call 907-474-7012 or visit www.uaf.edu/summer.
