The University of Alaska Fairbanks Tanana Valley Campus and the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District will hold the fifth-annual Career Tech Expo, Saturday, Feb. 20 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the James T. Hutchison Institute of Technology, 3750 Geist Road. The expo highlights February as National Career and Technical Education Month and showcases the numerous educational and career opportunities available in technical-related fields.

The event is designed to allow middle and high school students and their parents, as well as the community, to speak with employers and industry representatives about potential career paths, visit with faculty members, tour shops and classrooms, and participate in a variety of hands-on activities.

The event is free and open to the entire Fairbanks community. It will feature a variety of hands-on activities and door prizes, including iPods and movie tickets.
