Museum opens call for entries for Artisan Expo

The University of Alaska Museum of the North announces a call for entries for the 2010 Artisan Expo and Sale. The event runs Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 5.

The Artisan Expo and Sale marks the beginning of the holiday season at the University of Alaska Museum of the North. Approximately 25 artists from Alaska and the circumpolar North will be invited to sell their work in the museum’s lobby and adjoining spaces during the two-day event.

Artists working in all mediums are welcome to apply. Mediums may include ceramics, fiber arts, glass, metal, painting, photography, printmaking and wood. The selection committee will choose participants based on quality of work, artistic integrity, marketability and price levels. Artists must guarantee sufficient inventory for the two-day event.
