2011 Earth Week events
April 13, 2011
UAF will celebrate Earth Week with a variety of free events and activities sponsored
in part by the Office of Sustainability, Sustainable Campus Task Force and Residence Life, along with local businesses, students, faculty and staff volunteers.
The community is invited to participate in these events, which will be held predominately
on the Fairbanks campus. Events include films, forums, a bike fest, food, demonstrations
and competitions in celebration of the Earth. All events are free.

April 15 – 19, Residence Life — Lights Out Competition
April 14, 10 p.m., Hess Rec Center — Recycle Craft Night
April 15, 2 p.m., MBS parking lot — Repurpose / Free Van Rides to Gullivers Booksellers, Value Village and Fireweed Consignment Shop.
April 16, 11 a.m., Patty Center — Beat Beethoven 5K Run (Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra fundraiser)
April 17, 7 p.m., Schaible Auditorium — Eating Alaska Movie, Ripe for Change
April 18, 7 p.m., Schaible Auditorium — design e:The Economics of Being Environmentally Conscious
April 19, 6 – 7:30 p.m., Blue Loon — Moving towards the Zero Energy House. Speakers will be Richard Seifert, Cooperative Extension Service, and Thorsten Chlupp. Contact the Office of Sustainability for rides at mahebert@alaska.edu

April 23, 10 a.m., Lola Tilly Commons — Green Bike Program Kickoff
April 23, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., Lola Tilly Commons — Earth Fair. SCTF Fair, music, food, booths, demonstrations. General information, bring your bike for a free tune-up.
