AcademicWorks scholarship system training offered

The University of Alaska Foundation will train people this semester to use AcademicWorks' scholarship
management system.
The training will show department staff and selection committees how to set up scholarships
and make awards through the online portal.
Starting with the 2019-2020 application year, all foundation and many department scholarships
will be awarded using this portal.
Students can use the portal to view and apply for available scholarships, view and
accept scholarship offers, submit thank-you letters, and view donor profiles.
AcademicWorks allows department staff and scholarship committee members to review
eligible student applications at work, from home or on the road through various platforms.
This allows committee members to review applications before meeting to make the final
awards, if applicable.
The foundation purchased the system in 2016 to improve the scholarship experience
for UA students. Students first used AcademicWorks to apply for 2018-2019 Foundation
scholarships.
