Adam Watson has been named director of the Office of Planning, Analysis and Institutional Research. He will oversee and manage all operations within PAIR and report to UAF provost and executive vice chancellor Anupma Prakash.

Watson has been a student, employee and instructor at UAF for 15 years, with nine years of work in institutional research. He graduated from high school in Singapore, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Asian studies from the University of Pennsylvania and his Master of Science degree in statistics from UAF. Before entering graduate school at UAF, Watson spent a decade in journalism, working as a newspaper editor and page designer.

“Now, more than ever before, we need to rely on accurate data and analytics to guide institutional planning and decision-making, and I am pleased to have Adam Watson lead our IR team to help us in this important task,'' said Prakash.

Watson’s primary interests lie in improving IR efficiency through automation and self-service, collaboration between IR, people and entities, and bringing advanced analytic techniques to institutional challenges such as improving student success and forecasting future financial and enrollment activity.
