Commencement 2016 takes place at the Carlson Center on Sunday, May 8, and volunteers are needed to support the event. If you're interested in assisting this massive effort and celebrating the accomplishments of UAF graduates, please sign on.

Contact Amy Hartley  right away, as volunteers are being assigned tasks now. At present, help is needed in the following areas:

  • Information tables

  • Reserved seating

  • Prow Room

  • Spotters/floaters

  • Parking attendants

Doors to the Carlson Center open at noon, processional line-up begins at 12:20 p.m. and the ceremony begins at 1:20 p.m. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 11:30 a.m. to go over assignments and receive guidance on how the day should unfold.

Volunteers don't have to be on site for the duration of commencement. The bulk of volunteer work takes place upon guests' arrival, between noon and 1:30 p.m.

Show your Nanook pride and take part in commencement 2016 this weekend. Need more details about the event? Visit www.uaf.edu/commence to learn more and find out how to tune into the ceremony from afar.
