Alaska Agriculture Appreciation Day in Palmer Aug. 11

Alaska Agriculture Appreciation Day will take place noon – 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 11, at the Matanuska Experiment Farm, 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, in Palmer. Ag Day features vendors, exhibits and old-timey games. There will be live animals, milking demonstrations, activities for kids, prize giveaways, tours of research labs and fields, hay wagon rides and live music. The farm  is a research facility of the School of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences and the Agricultural  and Forestry Experiment Station. SNRAS and the UAF Cooperative Extension Service host the event. Call 907-746-9450 for more information.
