Alaska EPSCoR extends deadline for seed grant proposals

Contains same information as announcement. Graphic image of two leaves sprouting from a seed.The Alaska NSF EPSCoR program has extended the deadline to submit proposals for its research seed grants. The deadline is now midnight Alaska time on Monday, Oct. 21.



The deadline for EPSCoR's education and outreach seed grants remains midnight on Monday, Oct. 14.

Research seed grants will be awarded to UAF faculty and students to carry out proposals for new and innovative research projects that support the goals of the Alaska NSF EPSCoR “Fire and Ice” research project. Faculty grants will be for up to $20,000 each and student grants for up to $4,000 each.

Education and outreach grants will be awarded to UA faculty or staff for innovative proposals to build key competencies among stakeholders to address ecological change; to build a diverse pool of STEM learners and workers in Alaska; and/or to increase capacity for Fire and Ice science and teaching among UA faculty and students.

  • Faculty research seed grants of up to $20,000 each will be awarded to early- and mid-career, full-time faculty members of the University of Alaska to carry out proposals for new and innovative research projects that support the goals of the Alaska NSF EPSCoR “Fire and Ice” research project. The application deadline is Oct. 21, 2019.

  • Student research seed grants of up to $4,000 each will be awarded for similar proposals from graduate or undergraduate students at the University of Alaska. The application deadline is October 21, 2019.
