Alaska Nanooks to host open house

The Alaska Nanooks Department of Athletics will host an open house at the Patty Center on Friday, Sept. 6, from 5-7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Alaska Nanooks are inviting alumni, boosters, fans, program supporters and community members who are curious about the department's day-to-day activities. The Nanooks are also encouraging guests to bring questions for UAF leadership and athletics staff to answer.

The event will allow guests to tour the facilities at the Patty Center, including the new varsity weight room, the E.F. Horton Rifle Range, the Patty pool deck, the Alaska Airlines Court and the newly constructed locker rooms for men’s basketball, women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country running, and Nordic skiing and volleyball.

Guests will have a chance to meet the 2019-2020 Alaska Nanooks student-athletes, mingle with coaches and administrative staff, and meet the newest members of the Athletics Department. Coaches, student-athletes and staff will also be on hand to guide guests through the renovations and answer questions guests may have about the upcoming season.

The Alaska Nanooks ticketing office will be open to answer questions about season tickets.

Snacks and refreshments will be available.
