Alaska Native corporations seminar offered

The Great Alaskan Accounting People will host a seminar about Alaska Native corporations at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, in the Murie Building auditorium. A social hour with light refreshments will start at 5 p.m.
Four panelists will speak and then take questions.
GAAP is a University of Alaska Fairbanks student club. This is GAAP’s fifth annual seminar, which features distinguished speakers from a variety of backgrounds involving Alaska Native corporations.
This year’s speakers include:
- Tom Maloney, CEO of Ahtna Netiye’ Inc., the holding company for Ahtna Inc., an Alaska Native regional corporation.
- Daniel Mitchell, managing director with KPMG, a global accounting firm.
- Geri Simon, vice president of administration for Doyon Limited, the Fairbanks-based regional Native corporation for Interior Alaska.
- Toby Stoeber, accounting director for Doyon Limited.
Sam Alexander will serve as master of ceremonies for the seminar. Alexander is an instructor in the UAF homeland security and emergency management program and faculty advisor to the Native Alaskan Business Leaders Club.
