LAST WEEK: 2-0 | THIS WEEK: vs. Alaska Anchorage (Oct. 9), vs. Montana State Billings (Oct. 11)
After defeating Seattle Pacific 3-2 last Thursday and Saint Martin’s last Saturday, the Alaska Nanooks volleyball team is currently riding a four-match winning streak. The Nooks will look to upset in-state rival Alaska Anchorage on Tuesday, Oct. 9 before taking on the Montana State Billings Yellowjackets on Thursday, Oct. 11. Both conference matches will take place at the Alaska Airlines Court at 7 p.m.
Promotion: The first 100 UAF students through the door will receive a growl towel and poster signing with the team after the game.

RIFLE
LAST WEEK: Idle | THIS WEEK: vs. Ohio State (Oct. 12), vs. Nebraska (Oct. 14)
The Alaska Nanooks rifle team officially opens the 2018-19 season this week, hosting a pair of matches at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range at the Patty Center. The No. 3-ranked Nanooks will take on No. 14 Ohio State in a dual-match on Friday, Oct. 12, before taking on No. 8 Nebraska on Sunday, Oct. 14. Both matches will begin at 9 a.m.
Side: Ohio State and Nebraska will compete against one another on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Tanana Valley Sportsmen's Association range.

LAST WEEK: 0-2-0 | THIS WEEK: vs. No. 5/4 St. Cloud State University (Oct. 12-13)
The Alaska Nanooks continue nonconference play at home this week after falling 3-0 and 5-0 against the Arizona State University Sun Devils last Saturday (Oct. 6) and Sunday (Oct. 7), respectively. The Nanooks will host the No. 5/4 St. Cloud State University Huskies in their home-opener at the Carlson Center this Friday, Oct. 12, and Saturday, Oct. 13, with puck-drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m.

@NanooksVB’s Whiting Named GNAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
On Monday, the Great Northwest Athletic Conference named Alaska volleyball sophomore setter Cate Whiting the GNAC VB Offensive Player of the Week. Whiting paced the Nanooks’ offense in their pair of conference victories last week, collecting 75 assists, 10 blocks, 12 kills and 20 digs. It is Whiting’s first conference honor of her career and the Nanooks’ second of the 2018 season. Read more >> https://bit.ly/2PmXNNG

@NanooksWBB to Host Military Appreciation Basketball Camp
The Alaska Nanooks women’s basketball team will be hosting a military appreciation basketball camp on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the PFC Building 3709 on the Fort Wainwright Army post. The camp is free for Department of Defense cardholders and family members and is open to both boys and girls.
