Ali Knabe named interim vice chancellor for student affairs

Ali Knabe has been named interim vice chancellor for student affairs. She began working at UAF in May 2000 for the College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics.
She started in the Office of Student Affairs in March 2004 as the executive officer. She was responsible for overseeing the division’s budget and for leading a number of reorganization efforts to streamline workflow and realize efficiencies. She also oversaw Nanook Recreation.
Knabe became associate vice chancellor for student affairs in 2016 and assumed management of Wood Center, the Center for Student Rights and Responsibilities, Residence Life, the Student Health and Counseling Center, Disability Services, Nanook Recreation, and Dining and Contract Services.
Plans for a search for a permanent vice chancellor for student affairs will be announced later.
