Students: Apply now for Alternative Spring Break 2018

Apply now for the 2018 Alternative Spring Break. This year's service trip will be March 10-17 in Houston, Texas, where UAF students will help the community in its recovery process following Hurricane Harvey. The trip is organized by the Student Leadership and Involvement Office.

Please review the following expectations for participants and make sure you can meet the requirements before applying.


  • Make a financial commitment of $450; fundraising and scholarship options are available

  • Attend ALL team meetings. Meetings are scheduled with the team to ensure a time everyone can meet, please see a team leader if the times do not fit with your schedule

  • Contribute to a pre-trip reflection plan

  • Participate in team fundraisers

  • Comply with all health/safety guidelines set forth by the service organization and/or team leaders

  • Refrain from using drugs and alcohol during the trip

  • Complete a final reflection project and evaluation to be used in multiple group presentations


Applications are due by 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20. Apply via the UAF OrgSync website.

Interviews will be held Oct. 25-27.
