Alternative Spring Break holds minipie fundraiser

Just in time for Thanksgiving, the Alternative Spring Break team is selling homemade minipies as a fundraiser.

You can preorder your 5-inch minipie at http://uaf.edu/woodcenter/leadership/ and pick up your order in Wood Center or the Murie Building from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24.

Pies will be available for sale without preordering at those locations during the same time period that day, until stock runs out.

Team members will bake the pies Monday night, so they'll be fresh Tuesday. Flavors are pumpkin, cherry, apple and chocolate silk. The pies cost $4 each or $10 for three.

The Alternative Spring Break program brings students to a different location each year to conduct volunteer work. In March 2016, students will go to New Jersey to help with the continuing work to recover from 2012's Hurricane Sandy.
