Mark your calendar! The American Heart Association National Walking Day is April 6. This is the perfect time to take part in one of the healthiest activities available.

To participate, you simply need to set aside some time on April 6 to get moving. You can do this on your own, or you can make it more fun and encourage those around you to participate too. Even 15 minutes of walking is better than none, so make a plan and stick to it.

Need more of a push to get out of your chair? The University of Alaska will raffle off three FitBit Zips for participants who are eligible for the UA wellness program. To be considered for the raffle, send your walking pictures to Sara Rodewald at sararo@ashn.com. If you are participating as a group, be sure to include all names of individuals so they can be included in the drawing. All pictures need to be received by 5 p.m. April 11. The drawing will be completed and winners notified by April 13.

If you have questions, you can contact Sara, UA's on-site wellness program manager, at 907-450-8203 or at sararo@ashn.com.
