Amie Manis named editor of 'The Professional Counselor'

Amie Manis, an assistant professor in the counseling program with the School of Education, has been appointed editor of "The Professional Counselor." The National Board for Certified Counselors appointed her for the role of the online, open-access, peer-reviewed journal.
In an interview, Manis described her training and decision to become a counselor and later a counselor educator. She reflected on the inception of the online journal a decade ago, the rise of media in disseminating knowledge, and the role of the journal in shaping the knowledge base in counseling and counselor education.
