Reflecting on the effects of ANCSA

Two days of lectures and panel discussions about the effects of the Alaska Native
Claims Settlement Act on Alaska are scheduled 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday,
Oct. 5 – 6, in the Wood Center Carol Brown Ballroom.
The panels and lectures will feature guests from across Alaska addressing issues from
the economic, environmental, social, cultural, and educational impact of ANCSA in
the 40 years since its 1971 passage. They will also address the impacts on Alaska
Native culture, education, and leadership. Speakers will include Alaska Native leaders,
former
state and U.S. senators, and members of the
Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce.
