University Relations

The UAF Nature Lab invites you to take part in an experiment about animals to gain a better understanding of individuals' feelings towards different types of animals. The activity takes 30-45 min. to complete, and will take place in a classroom on the Fairbanks campus. Participants will engage in personality assessments and written exercises, and will watch a short PowerPoint presentation.

  • Participants must be at least 18 years old and residents of the Fairbanks North Star Borough.

  • Participants can enter a drawing for a $100 gift card.

  • Contact information will only be collected if you participate in the incentive drawing. It will only be used to contact the drawing winners and then destroyed.

  • You may choose to opt out at any time.

If you have any questions or would like to participate please contact Cassidy Kelly at cmkelly5@alaska.edu. This study is open until the end of the spring semester.

If you have questions or concerns about your rights as a research participant, you can contact the Office of Research Integrity at 474-7800 (Fairbanks area) or 866-876-7800 (toll free outside the Fairbanks area) or uaf-irb@alaska.edu.

The Nature Lab is a student research project with the Psychology Department. It is co-led by Assistant Professor Jen Peterson and Associate Professor Dani' Sheppard.
