The application deadlines for the 2020 academy has been extended to March 1.

UAF's Arctic Remote Energy Networks Academy is a unique circumpolar knowledge-sharing program focusing on isolated power systems integration.

Applications for the 2020 academy are due Feb. 15 March 1. Participants will travel to Nunavut, Canada; Alaska; and Iceland this summer.

The ARENA program is designed for current and emerging leaders involved in community-scale renewable energy projects or initiatives.

The program is held in partnership with Canada, Gwich’in Council International, the United States and Iceland. It’s endorsed by the Sustainable Development Working Group of the Arctic Council.

Combining visits to communities and participant knowledge exchanges with presentations and laboratory demonstrations, ARENA connects current and emerging energy professionals with hands-on learning experiences, mentors and project development leaders from throughout the circumpolar North.
