Richard Tuttle will visit the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus in April. The artist is featured in the “Vogel 50 X 50” exhibit at the University of Alaska Museum of the North.

Tuttle and his wife, poet Mei-mei Berssenbrugge, will meet with students in the art and English departments. They will also give a public lecture on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 p.m. in the museum auditorium, "The Vogel Collection and A Poem."

Berssenbrugge, the author of 12 books of poetry, is a contemporary poet and the winner of two American Book Awards. Tuttle has been instrumental in the emergence of several modern art movements, including post-minimalism. He has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including a retrospective at the Tate Modern in London.

The UA Museum of the North received several pieces of Tuttle’s artwork as part of “The Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection: Fifty Works for Fifty States” donation. Those are included in the museum’s exhibit.
