Autism advocate Haley Moss will present a lecture, "Autism and College Education," on Wednesday, March 4, from noon-2 p.m. in Wood Center C, D, E and F.

Moss is the first openly autistic person to pass the Florida bar exam. Following her autism diagnosis at age 3, her family was told that she would be fortunate to make friends, obtain her driver's license or graduate high school. Instead, she eventually graduated from the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Law. Today, she is an artist, attorney, author and advocate who is open about her journey, giving hope to other autistic people and their family and friends.

Moss' visit to Alaska is sponsored by the Alaska Autism Resource Center. She will be giving lectures throughout the state. All events, including her UAF lecture, will be webcast via Zoom. Advance registration is required to access the webcasts.

Moss' UAF lecture is presented by the Nanook Diversity and Action Center and Disability Services.
