Banner 9 available Oct. 29

Starting Monday, Oct. 29, Banner 9 will become available to all departments. A notable change from Banner 8 to Banner 9 is that Banner 9 is accessible via a web browser. This means you can access it anywhere you have the Internet. It’s accessible on any mobile device, and future upgrades will take less time to complete.

This upgrade will not require an outage. Banner users can log in as they normally would, and they will have the option of using Banner 8 or Banner 9. However, Banner 8 will no longer be supported by the vendor, Ellucian, as of January 2019. This means the more users use Banner 9 before the end of December 2018, the better the more familiar they'll be with the new interface.  

Talk with your manager or director about training opportunities at your campus, or visit the project websites below for a training flyer directing you to additional training resources. Training materials are also available at https://wiki.alaska.edu on the Banner 9 site. This wiki is available to anyone at UA with valid credentials.

Ellucian, the vendor for Banner, also offers Banner 9 training materials for all UA users. You must first register on the Ellucian HUB here: https://clientapps.ellucian.com/SignUp .
