Benefit concert for Japan disaster relief set for June 12

The Fairbanks Japan Relief Organization is hosting a benefit concert 4 p.m. Sunday,
June 12, in Davis Concert Hall. Although the concert is free, donations are welcome
to help raise funds for Japan disaster relief. Immediately following the concert,
in the Great Hall, will also be a bake and art sale.
The concert will feature Jun Watabe, UAF assistant professor of woodwinds and a native
of Sendai, Japan, on saxophone and Sasha Bult-Ito, a homegrown Fairbanksan, three-time
Fairbanks Concerto Competition and 2011 State Competition winner on piano.
All proceeds will go to the Japan Red Cross Society for earthquake and tsunami disaster
relief.
