Nanook voters have made UAF No. 2 in the country for the Blended Burger Project, but there's still time to make it No. 1! Chartwells' executive chef, Jon Buchholtz, has crafted a tasty one-of-a-kind creation and entered it in the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project, campus edition. Colleges and universities nationwide have created "blended burgers," made by combining finely chopped mushrooms with meat, creating a burger that's tastier, healthier and more sustainable.

The two chefs who receive the most votes in their category will win a trip to New York to compete nationally at the James Beard House. Help send Chef Buchholz to New York to represent UAF! Click here to vote.

Chef Buchholtz's creation is an Alaska reindeer and cremini mushroom burger topped with a feta crouton and Alaska cranberry ketchup, all on a homemade sweet potato bun. The burger is available only at the Alaska Grill in Wood Center now through Dec. 15. Share your vote on Facebook or show the cashier you voted, and you'll receive 10 percent off. In addition, every time you vote, you will be entered to win a grand prize of a $1,000 on-campus gift certificate or a runner-up prize of a $100 VISA gift card.

You can vote once a day through Dec. 15 to enter the drawing and help UAF win the big prize!
