Bryan Uher has been appointed interim director of the Interior Alaska Campus at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Uher, IAC's administrative manager, will replace Teisha Simmons, who is leaving for a position at Tanana Chiefs Conference. A search will be launched next spring for a full-time director.

Uher has been with IAC for 14 years, starting as a student assistant at age 18. He has worked in program coordination, student services oversight, technology support and partnership development. He graduated from UAF with an associate degree in applied business and a bachelor’s degree in rural development, and is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Alaska Southeast.

Simmons, who has served as IAC campus director since 2012, will join TCC as wellness and prevention manager on Nov. 9.

The College of Rural and Community Development fulfills UAF's community college mission. Its five rural campuses and the Community and Technical College provide both distance education and place-based classes.
