Budget update: Sept. 4
September 4, 2019
— by Dan White, chancellor
Last January I started a weekly budget column to keep you informed about the changing
scenarios as they unfolded. The column usually appeared in the Wednesday edition of
Cornerstone, but occasionally it appeared earlier or later in the week when it was
necessary. As we move further into the new budget cycle and structural discussions,
I've decided it's best to send a separate budget email rather than be tied to a specific
day and time. That way I can share with you the latest, most relevant news as soon
as I have it. Sometimes that will be earlier in the week, and sometimes it will be
later. I remain committed to being open and transparent, and to giving you the most
accurate information I can. Thank you for your work, your ideas and your support.
For this Wednesday’s update, please keep in mind that all faculty and staff are required
to complete their annual Title IX training no later than October 1st each year. You can find the Title IX training at UAOnline under the “Employee” tab and “Employee E-Learning” link. One of the options will
be “Employee Training”; please select it for the Title IX training option available.
You can also access it through MyUA in the “Learning Library”.
Title IX training is critical to creating a culture of respect, diversity, inclusion and caring on
campus. To keep our campus safe, if you see something, say something and do something.
It takes all of us to stop assault, harassment and discrimination of all kind on campus.
If you need additional assistance with accessing this training, please contact the
HRIS Help Desk at (907) 450-8214 or email ua-syhr@alaska.edu.
As always, thank you all for your dedication. You make UAF GREAT!
