The American Association of University Women and the League of Women Voters of the Tanana Valley invite you to learn about experiences of two Fairbankans helping empower women in Burkino Faso. The presentation will be Monday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in theNoel Wien Library auditorium.

Joy Morrison, now the director of UAF's Office of Faculty Development, was there in 1988-1989 with the Academy of Education Development, and Marilyn Russell was in the Peace Corps there in 2013-2015. Both are feminists who focused on strengthening rights of Burkinabé women and on family, health and gender equity issues.
