The University of Alaska Fairbanks will celebrate its 90th Starvation Gulch Sept. 27-28.
The annual fall tradition includes a bonfire competition, when students use wooden pallets to build the most creative fire with the highest flame. Student groups still need pallets: Businesses or community members who would like to donate pallets or who have questions or concerns should contact the UAF Student Activities Office at 907-474-6026.
Bonfire-building will take place Saturday, Sept. 28th from noon to 4 p.m. in the Taku Parking Lot. The bonfires will be lit at 10 p.m. and the event will include music, booths and a barbecue. The event is free and open to the public.
ADDITIONAL CONTACTS: Cody Rogers, UAF student activities, 907-474-6026 or cbrogers@alaska.edu.
