CEM, SOM students to compete in wind competition
April 22, 2013
The College of Engineering and Mines and the School of Management have partnered together to compete in the inaugural National Collegiate Wind Competition, as one of ten universities nationwide selected.
This interdisciplinary competition, sponsored by DOE and its National Renewable Energy
Laboratory, challenges engineering and business majors to join forces to design, build
and market a light-weight, transportable wind turbine for powering small electronics.
Co-advisors Prof. Rorik Peterson (CEM) and Prof. Xiaoqi Chelsea Han (SOM) are leading
the effort. The competition will take place in Washington, D.C. in June 2014.
