September 11, 2018
Demonstrations will be 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. on Sept. 19 and 20 in Fine Arts Complex Room 415, the ceramics studio. A presentation, at 7 p.m. Sept. 19, will be in Music Room 301.
Warashina is an American artist known for her imaginative and often humourous ceramic sculptures. Her works are in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, Japan's National Museum of Modern Art, Kyoto, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Warashina uses sculpture to explore such themes as the human condition, feminism, car culture, and other political and social topics.
The UAF Student Ceramics Art Guild is sponsoring Warashina's visit.
